Cracked Lips Care For Reducing Lip Sensitivity and Cosmetics

Cracked lips are irritating, they look terrible and affect your look and lifestyle. Cosmetically these can spell disaster as the flakes can come lose and you may find it inviting to peel those off with your teeth, or if your remove the flakes it is impossible to apply a lipstick for yet another day because exposed skin is now sensitive. The worst scenario in cracked ribs are the bleeding lips. Imagine a smile and instead of coming off natural, the smile ends up in tearing sensitive lip tissue and making lips bleed. There is no other option than to say 'oww' and tap the lip gently with your handkerchief.

Cracked lips are not just the extreme scenario, if you notice a burning sensation with you eat certain foods or are having an inflammation or experiencing pain, you lips are most probably cracked or chapped. Many find relief in licking the lips as an instant help. For the shortest time saliva can even soothe the problem, but does it repair cracked or chapped lips? No. In fact, these can escalate the problem by making lips drier and most probably the burning sensation of the pain might escalate.

Causes for cracked lips can vary from person to person, but most of the time it happens because of extreme dry weather, cold winds, sun exposure, breathing through mouth, allergies - especially from the products you use, medical conditions, deficiencies, etc. For some, cracked lips is seasonal, during winters or dry summers. This can be easily rectified and the pain eased with any moisturizing lip balms and chap sticks. For other problems, you will need to visit a physician. In case of allergies, it is always ideal you locate those and make sure you avoid future use of any product which contains the allergy inducing factor.

Chapped lips can be avoided simple home remedies like using milk cream or ideally using clarifying butter or ghee. One of the most trusted remedies. This is made in most Indian households or is available in the market. But home made on has all its nutrition and purity intact. Beware, it is very tasty so you could end up applying it and licking it off several times before you choose to let it remain for good.

There are other medically formulated chap sticks and there are also some created by cosmetics companies. A few are recommended by dermatologists if these are formulated using specific formulae. Generally, a chap stick is alright to overcome the dryness of lips. Cosmetically, lipsticks, both light and dark shades do not look good if your lips are cracked.
